Li Shan – Chinese famous literary, painter and calligrapher

Lai-yin’s works always remind me of my feelings when reading poetry:
“ The cold stream shrouded in misty haze. And the sandy bay showered by moonlight”. This kind of crystalline, hazy and reserved beauty is often frond in Lai-yin’s paintings, ”On turning round, I saw her standing in the waning lights”. This kind of star-like, bewildering atmosphere is also to be found in Lai-yin’s paintings.”Drizzles of rain moistened the green leaves, warm breeze of summer made yellow flowers burst into bloom”. Such freshness is also to be found in Lai-yin’s words.“A spring of lovely redness distill dewy fragrance.” In Lai-yin’s paintings of flowers one can smell such fragrance.

Luis Chan – Hong Kong famous Artist

Her strokes are minimal, precise, expressive and moody. It can only be achieved by artists with high capacity and ability in art.
It was a pleasant experience in enjoying Yu Lai Yin’s art. Artist to let her feelings flow freely so as to breathe more life into art.

Huang Guo Ghiang - Principal of Yunnam University
“To store abundantly before expressing yourself” if one of the principles of Chinese painting, which is also the standard for art appreciation in China. Yu Lai Yin also strives for this quality in her work. Apart from the beauty of colour and strokes her work are often shrouded n a mystic, inexplicable atmosphere. Those flowers, those leaves, those space, those water – all blend into one, giving out a lingering taste. They spark one’s imagination, breaking out of the confines of the picture. These are lyrical poems by a female artist refined, beautiful and full of fire.

Helen Cullinan - Curator, United States

Her work covers the full painting ground in impressionistic and semi-abstract surface treatments. There are palpable effects of water moisture and the early damp dawn when lotuses open with a muffled popping sound.
For her the painting of a fragile flower embodies Buddhist beliefs and spiritual meaning.

Sandra Walters  - Hong Kong Sandra Walters Consultancy
Lai Yin’s work evolved in a style that hangs gracefully in the balance between the traditional and modern and is softened by an eye sensitive to the warmth of personal expression. There is also a combination of Eastern and Western elements. Yu Lai Yin’s lotuses have been greatly admired and are the most acclaimed of her flowers. Her delicate watercolours reflect the Buddhist philosophy and spiritual significance of the flower/----------Her irises and cherry blossoms are also imbued with human qualities particularly ones of tranquillity and hope. With steady brush strokes and a myriad of hues, Yu Lai Yin creates sensuous and serene compositions with delicacy.
